About

Who builds DropPerch

A web agency owner who kept nearly losing client domains, and could not find a monitor that read the registry rather than a copy of it.

Who builds it

DropPerch is built and operated by Web Vogue Technologies, a software company in Hyderabad, Telangana. We build web and mobile software for clients, and we ship our own products — Atrio CRM, ToLet Scanner, SubTrack and this one. DropPerch has its own page on our company site, and you can reach the company directly on +91 70135 68928.

That matters more than it should have to. You are being asked to let a small company watch domains you cannot afford to lose, and the reasonable question is whether it will still be here next year. DropPerch is not a side project that stops when someone gets bored — it is one of four products from a company whose other work pays the bills.

Why it exists

Running an agency means being responsible for client websites staying up, on domains registered in accounts we do not control, with renewal notices going to inboxes we never see. The first real signal that a domain has lapsed is the site being down, and by then the conversation with the client has already gone badly.

Every tool we tried read a WHOIS mirror — a copy of registry data refreshed on somebody else's schedule. Usually accurate. Occasionally wrong in the direction that matters: a renewed domain still reading as expiring, or a lapsed one still reading as fine. For a number you are going to act on, "usually accurate" is not good enough.

What DropPerch does differently

It asks the registry. Every check is an RDAP request to the registry operator for that TLD — Verisign for .com, AFNIC for .fr, PIR for .org — and what you see is the answer that came back. No cached copy in between.

You do not have to take that on trust, which is the whole point. The free expiry checker runs the lookup in your browser: open your network tab and watch the request go to the registry rather than to us. We never see which domain you checked, because the query never reaches our servers. That is a consequence of how it is built, not a promise we are asking you to believe.

What we are not

It is better to say this plainly than to let you find out later. We are a small company, not a venture-backed one with a 24-hour support desk. Email reaches the people who wrote the code, which means direct answers rather than a ticket number — and it also means replies arrive in working hours, in one timezone.

If you are evaluating this for a portfolio you genuinely cannot afford to lose, that trade is worth knowing before you decide rather than after.

How it stays running

Paid plans fund it. The free tier is 25 domains because a monitor you cannot test properly is not worth trusting, and 25 is enough to load a real client list and judge it against what your registrar tells you. The registry lookups cost us nothing to run, so free accounts are not a loss being quietly subsidised until the terms change.

There is no advertising on this site and no plan to add any. The product is the business model.

Getting in touch

Email support@dropperch.com, call +91 70135 68928, or find us at @dropperch. Bug reports and "this showed me the wrong date" messages are the most useful mail we get — the entire claim rests on being right about dates, so being told when we are not is doing us a favour.

Watch your own domains

25 domains free, no card. Any registrar, no transfer — reading the registry needs no permission from anyone.
