01This agreement
These terms are a contract between you and the individual trading as WebVogue Technologies, a sole proprietorship based in India (“we”, “us”). They govern your use of DropPerch.
By creating an account or using the service you accept them. If you are accepting on behalf of a company, you confirm you are authorised to bind it, and “you” means that company.
The operator is an individual, not a registered company. Their legal name is given on request to support@dropperch.com, and is required for any formal notice under this agreement.
Our Privacy Policy forms part of this agreement.
02What the service does
DropPerch reads the authoritative registry record for domain names you nominate, using RDAP (RFC 9083), and records what it finds. When a domain’s lifecycle state changes — for example into the redemption period, or on to release — we email you.
Checks run on a recurring schedule, at least once every 24 hours per watched domain. We do not commit to a shorter interval, and we may vary timing to respect the rate limits registries impose on us.
Everything we show about a domain is derived from what the registry publishes. We add interpretation — a lifecycle state, a projected release window — but we do not have information the registry has not published.
03Your account
You must be at least 18 and provide an email address you control. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for everything done through your account.
Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed by someone else. One account is for one person or one organisation; do not share credentials to work around plan limits.
04Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Resell the underlying data — Extract our monitoring output in bulk in order to operate a competing feed or data product. Using it for your own domains, clients, or portfolio is exactly what it is for.
- Automate against the interface — Scrape the application, or drive it with scripts in place of the intended use. If you need programmatic access, ask us.
- Overload the service — Deliberately create load intended to degrade it for other users, or use it to relay traffic to third parties.
- Break the law with it — Use the service to infringe someone’s trademark, to harass, or in breach of any applicable law or the policies of ICANN or a registry.
- Interfere with security — Probe, circumvent, or test our access controls except through a good-faith report to us.
We may suspend an account that is doing any of these, and will tell you why. Where the breach is not serious we will ask you to stop before suspending anything.
05Plans, price, and payment
The Watchlist plan is free. Each of the first 25 accounts holds a founding seat and covers up to 25 domains for as long as that account exists, including after any paid plan ends. Accounts created after those seats are taken cover up to 5 domains. The Portfolio plan removes the limit and adds domain authority figures. Current prices are on the pricing page.
Paid plans are sold through Gumroad, which acts as the seller of record. Gumroad takes the payment, issues the receipt, and is responsible for sales tax and VAT. Your card details go to Gumroad and never to us, so your purchase is also subject to Gumroad’s own terms and the invoice is in their name. If paid plans are not yet open in the app, nothing is charged and the free plan is unaffected.
Your receipt carries a licence key. Entering it in the app is what activates the plan: we verify it with Gumroad and apply the plan within the hour. We re-check it periodically, so a subscription that lapses, ends or is refunded returns the account to the free plan, at most one verification cycle later.
Subscriptions renew automatically for the same term until cancelled. Cancel from your Gumroad receipt at any time; access continues to the end of the period you have paid for and the account then returns to Watchlist. Nothing is deleted, and domains over the free limit stay visible but stop being checked. We will give at least 30 days’ notice by email before any price change affecting you, and you may cancel instead of accepting it.
A new subscription may be cancelled for a full refund within 30 days. Because Gumroad is the seller of record the refund is issued through them — ask us and we will arrange it, or request it from your receipt directly.
We may change what the free plan includes. If we reduce it, existing free accounts keep what they had for at least 30 days after we tell them.
06What the service is not
DropPerch is a monitoring and notification service. It does not register, backorder, reserve, bid on, or acquire domain names, and an alert from us gives you no claim to a domain.
Specifically, and without limiting that:
- We do not compete for the drop — When a domain is released, it is available to whoever registers it first, typically through registrars and drop-catch services operating at machine speed. An alert tells you the window has opened. It does not put you at the front of it.
- Registry data can lag or be wrong — We report what the registry publishes. Registries update on their own schedules, and occasionally publish records that are incomplete or inconsistent. A projected release date is an estimate derived from published policy, not a commitment by anyone.
- A domain may never drop — An owner can renew or redeem at almost any point in the expiry cycle, and most do. Watching a domain is not an indication that it will become available.
- Alerts are best-effort — Email delivery depends on networks and inbox providers we do not control. We do not guarantee that any given alert arrives, arrives on time, or escapes a spam filter. Do not rely on DropPerch as the sole safeguard for a domain that matters to you — for a name you own, keep auto-renew on with your registrar.
- Third-party figures are theirs — Domain authority and referring-domain counts come from Open PageRank. We pass them through and do not warrant their accuracy.
Nothing on this site is legal advice about trademarks, domain disputes, or your rights to any particular name.
07Availability
We aim to keep the service running continuously and will give notice of planned maintenance where we reasonably can. We do not currently offer a contractual uptime commitment, and none should be inferred from this page.
We may change, add, or withdraw features. If we withdraw something you depend on, we will tell paid subscribers by email first.
08Your data and our software
The domain names and notes you enter remain yours. You grant us only the permission needed to run the service: to store them, query registries about them, and generate your alerts and history. We claim no other rights over them.
The software, design, and text of DropPerch remain ours. You get a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service under these terms, and nothing more.
Registry data itself belongs to the registries and is subject to their terms of use. You may use what we show you for your own domain decisions; see section 04 on resale.
09Ending the agreement
You can stop at any time by deleting your account on the Account page. Deletion removes your watchlist and history and cannot be undone. Export your data first if you want to keep it.
We may suspend or close an account for a serious or repeated breach of section 04, for non-payment once paid plans exist, or if we are legally required to. Except where the breach makes it impossible, we will give you notice and a chance to put it right.
If we discontinue the service entirely, we will give account holders at least 30 days’ notice, refund any prepaid unused period, and keep the export working until the end.
10Disclaimers and liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, the service is provided “as is”. We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, and we do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any domain data is complete or accurate.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, nor for lost profits, lost business, lost opportunity, or the loss or non-acquisition of any domain name, however caused.
Our total liability arising out of or relating to this agreement is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or US$50. Because the free plan involves no payment, that floor is the cap for a free account.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected by this section.
11Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your use of the service in breach of these terms or of any law — including a claim that a domain you pursued using the service infringed someone else’s rights.
12Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For a change that materially affects your rights or obligations we will email account holders at least 30 days before it takes effect, and the date at the top of this page will change. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new version; if you do not, close your account before it applies.
13Governing law and disputes
This agreement is governed by the laws of India, and the courts of competent jurisdiction in India have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer resident elsewhere you keep any right you have to bring proceedings in your own country.
Come to us first. Most disputes are a misunderstanding about what an alert meant, and we would rather answer that than litigate it.
14General
These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between us on this subject. If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest stands.
Our not enforcing a term is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer this agreement without our consent; we may transfer it as part of a sale or reorganisation of the business, on notice to you.
