Free domain tools
Lookups that ask the authoritative registry directly, at the moment you press the button. No cached mirror in between, no signup, and the query never touches our servers.
- Domain expiry checker
Check when any domain expires. Live registry lookup over RDAP rather than a cached WHOIS mirror, showing the expiration date, days remaining, registrar, nameservers and status codes. Free, no signup.
- Domain age checker
Check how old any domain is. Reads the registration date straight from the registry over RDAP rather than a cached WHOIS mirror, with the exact date, the registrar and the current status. Free, no signup.
Why these read the registry rather than a mirror
Most free domain tools query a WHOIS mirror — a copy of registry data refreshed on somebody else's schedule. It is usually accurate and occasionally wrong in the direction that matters, showing a renewed domain as expiring or a lapsed one as safe.
These ask the registry operator directly over RDAP, the protocol registries are required to serve. The answer is the registry's own, and you can check any of it with whois on your own machine.
Watching, not just checking
A lookup is a snapshot. DropPerch re-reads the registry daily for every domain you watch and emails you before it expires — any registrar, no transfer, 25 domains free.
